PNB ORGANIZES SCREENING CEREMONY NAMED “VARDAAN” – A DOCUMENTARY FILM
New Delhi: Priority Sector & Lead Bank Division, Punjab National Bank organized a Screening Ceremony of documentary film on Bank’s Agriculture Credit Schemes titled “Vardaan”during Lead District Managers’ Conference at PNB Central Staff College, New Delhi. On this occasion Deepak Singhal, Regional Director, Reserve Bank of India, Dr. R S Sangapure, Executive Director, PNB, Dr. Rakesh Gupta, GM, PS&LB Division, &63 Lead District Managers of PNBwere present.
Deepak Singhal, Regional Director, RBIPraised this terming as “an excellent documentary”that covers wide range of aspects related to Agriculture Credit Schemes of Bank. He said that the film is an innovative attempt to communicate about Agriculture Credit Schemes in straight & simple language i.e. better understandable to the farming community.

Dr. R S Sangapure, Executive Director, PNB, said that thisfilm is an attempt to inculcate habit of saving among rural masses and also to educate them about financial inclusion through schemes like Prime Minister Jan DhanYojana (PMJDY), different credit schemes of the Bank like KCC loan, Kalyani Card loan for rural women and spreading awareness about concept of Self Help Groups, Joint Liability Groups, Kisan Clubs, improved agricultural practices etc.
Dr. Sangapure,further added that the film focuses on educating rural masses about the benefits of linking with financial system and how they can free themselves from the clutches of money lenders.
Dr. Rakesh Gupta, GM, PS&LB Division,informed that the film also depicts innovative ideas being used by the Bank like “Magic Show” for spreading financial literacy&imparting awareness about benefits of saving.The film will be utilized by the Bank for spreading financial literacy and awareness among rural masses through its strong network of 102 Financial Literacy Centres, 52 RSETIs and 10 Farmers’ Training Centers & also be screened regularly in Bank’s 12 Staff Training Colleges.
