DELHI POLICE ENCOURAGES USE OF KHADI,B.S.BASSI,CP DELHI DIISTRIBUTES KHADI CLOTHES TO STAFF

DISTRIBUTION OF CLOTH KHADI BY CP/DELHI TO STAFF FOR ENCOURAGING THE USE OF KHADI

Till now, Terrycotton cloths were issued to the staff of Delhi Police for Uniform, which is not an eco friendly for staff, who are engaged in physical work facing difficulties especially in summer season. Keeping in view of above, a team led by Spl. CP/Prov. & Logistic Sh. Rajesh Malik, IPS and DCP/P&L Sh. Sharat Sinha, IPS decided to explore good quality eco friendly and breathable cloth for providing better quality cloths to our staff. In this context, special fabric (Cloth Khadi Polyvastra) was designed by Khadi and Village Industries in co-ordination with Delhi Police. This cloth is quite suitable for staff, because of its fineness, comfort-ability and durability. Further, by using Khadi we also help in providing employment to the artisans at their door steps and encourage in creating self-reliance amongst such people and building up of strong rural community spirit.

In view of above, we have procured the cloth Khadi Polyvestra for staff and on 27.2.2015 at 1200 Noon at Conference Hall, PHQ, CP/Delhi Sh. Bhim Sain Bassi, IPS alongwith Sh. Anil Kumar, IAS Jt. Secretary, Commissioner, Khadi Village & Industries, Sh. K.S. Rao, Dy. Chief Executive officer, North Zone and Spl. CP/Admn. Mrs. Vimla Mehra, IPS distributed these cloths to staff of Delhi Police. CP/Delhi appreciated the quality and employment scheme of Khadi and also expressed desire to explore further use of Khadi in Police. All Spl. CsP, other senior officers of Delhi Police and media personnel were also present in the function.
