THE ANTI CORRUPTION BRANCH GNCT OF DELHI ARRESTS SUB REGISTRAR-V KALKAJI FOR DEMANDING AND ACCEPTING A BRIBE OF 25K

Sub-Registrar/Mehrauli and tout arrested

Bribe money Rs. 25,000/- recovered

On 02/05/2016, the Anti Corruption Branch, GNCT of Delhi has arrested Rana Pratap Singh, Sub-Registrar-V (Kalkaji)  alongwith one tout Mahesh Kumar @ Ramesh Kumar for demanding and accepting bribe of Rs. 25,000/- from the complainant.

Brief Facts:

On 02/05/2016, one complainant came to A.C. Branch and lodged a complaint that a property of Govind Puri was registered in the office of Sub-Registrar-V (Kalkaji) on 8.04.2016. Later on when complainant visited office of Sub-Registrar to get original registered copy a demand of Rs. 25,000/- was made by Sub-Registrar through his tout Mahesh Kumar.

Instead of giving bribe, the complainant approached A.C. Branch and lodged the complaint. Accordingly a trap was laid officers of Anti Corruption Branch and Sub-Registrar Rana Pratap Singh and tout Mahesh were arrested while demanding and accepting Rs. 25,000/- as bribe from the complainant

A case FIR No. 08/2016      dated 02/05/2016 U/s 7/8/13 POC Act, 1988 has been registered at PS A.C. Branch and further investigation is in progress.
