PNB STAFF DONATED SALARY FOR CHENNAI FLOOD RELIEF
Smt. Usha Ananthasubramanian, MD&CEO, Punjab National Bank handover a cheque for PM National Relief Fund, helping hand towards Chennai Flood victims. Cheque was presented to Sh. Anurag Jain, IAS, Joint Secretary at PMO. On this occasion Sh. Gauri Shankar, Dr. Ram S.Sangapure, Executive Directors of bank were also present.
The amount was contributed by all employees of PNB. Overseas employee of PNB-IL London also contributed one day salary towards Chennai relief. PNB has taken many steps in extending help to flood affected victims of Chennai.The Bank had waived ATM charges for their customers who use other Bank ATMs so that public are able to withdraw cash from a much wider network of ATMs. Further intersol charges were also waived in the month of December, 2015. Thus customers could visit any branch of PNB instead of their Base Branch and complete their transactions at no extra charges.
PNB has also assured its customers to approve credit facilities under the schemes of Repairs and Renovation to damaged houses and overdraft facility against the existing housing loans to meet the urgent fund requirements to ensure replenishment of the loss due to flood. Extended working hours were implemented during December, 2015 to ensure maximum help to public.
As a part of CSR activity, Bank distributed the food packets, water bottles, dresses, Blankets and sanitary items to the flood affected people. PNB also dispatached two Trucks loads from Delhi of clothes, sarees, lungies, bed sheets etc. to Chennai.
