DELHI JAL BOARD BEGINS TRIAL RUN OF 7.70 MILLION LITRES UGR STATION
DJB begins trial run of 7.70 Million Litres capacity Underground
Reservoir/Booster Pumping Station at Y-Block Mangolpuri
Around 1.70 lac people living in Mangolpuri, Sultanpuri
Block-C,D,E,F,G,J,P S, Sultanpur Majra Assembly Constituency and their
adjoining areas to benefit
In another important step towards rationalization of piped
water supply in Delhi, the Delhi Jal Board has started the trial run
of the newly constructed Underground Reservoir/Booster Pumping Station
of 7.70 Million Littre capacity at Y-Block Mangolpuri along with its
feeder & peripheral water mains.
The newly commissioned UGRs/BPS to benefit a total of 1.7 Lakh
population residing in the areas of Sultanpur Majra Assembly
Constituency. The total cost of the project is 28.54 Crores.
The Underground Reservoir/Booster Pumping Station shall be
commissioned on 04.09.2017 (Monday). The water supply from the UGR is
scheduled to be supplied in the morning hours from 10.00 A.M. to 1.00
P.M.
The residents of the command area Sultanpuri Viz. Block
C,D,E,F,G,J,P,S ,Sultanpur Majra Assembly Constituency and their
adjoining areas may receive muddy water during this initial phase.
Although, Delhi Jal Board, will release water for the consumers only
after testing of water from its laboratory, still the residents are
advised to flush out any such muddy water before consumption/storage.
The Board has been consistently working towards developing
the necessary enabling framework to bring more and more areas of the
city under its water network thereby providing people with regular
water supply at better pressure.
