Dr. JAYADEV SARANGI, IAS, AGMUT TAKES CHARGE AS MEMBER (ADMINISTRATION),DELHI JAL BOARD

New Delhi: Dr. Jayadev Sarangi, IAS, AGMUT, has taken charge as the Member (Administration), Delhi Jal Board, from 27.05.2014. Prior to this appointment, he served as Secretary to the Government in the Government of Goa.
Dr. Sarangi has varied experience in the fields of administration and governance, having held various administrative positions in the Governments of Delhi, Andaman and Nicobar Islands Administration, and Government of Goa. He has also worked for the Ministry of Railways and the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.
He has also served two terms on foreign assignments with the United Nations. Being an authority on matters pertaining to prison reforms and human rights, he has the special honour of being the first UN fellow in Prison Reforms at the Crime Preventive and Criminal Justice Branch of the United Nations, at Vienna, Austria. The extracts of one of his study papers, presented at the UNO, titled “Crime Prevention – New Delhi Correctional Model,” has become a model for all the State Governments and Union Territories of India in adopting suggested alternatives to imprisonment to reduce overcrowding in prisons.
