Yogamaya Acharya, President, Neyveli Ladies Club inaugurates the “Language Command Centre”

Smt. Yogamaya Acharya, President, Neyveli Ladies Club inaugurated the “Language Command Centre”  in the presence of Dr. Sarat Kumar Acharya, CMD, and Functional Directors of  NLCIL on 08-07-2017. The Centre is established to familiarize the young women of the peripheral villages to converse in English Language through Spoken English Classesto be handled by Qualified Experienced teachers at the Neyveli Ladies Club, Block-7. . The programme has been organized by the company under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in association with the Neyveli Ladies Club.

       Empowering Women

NLCIL under its CSR initiatives in association with the Neyveli Ladies Club have been organizing various skill development programmes like Tailoring, Beautician Course, Making Gems & Jewels and to operate Light Motor Vehicle for empowering the women of the peripheral villages and for  the dependents of the Contract employees of NLCIL. During the year 2016-2017, 370 women have benefitted from such vocational training. Based on the success of these programmes, the management decided to organize special coaching classes for the women to learn and converse in English Language.

Confidence Building Measure

Dr. S.K.Acharya, CMD in his inaugural address said “ In today’s modern world  communication is inevitable”, especially when you are required to communicate in other languages, hesitation and lack of self confidence prevails as hurdle. Parents on completion of this training session will be in a position to help their wards in clearing doubts in their academics. Moreover with the strengthening of their self confidence, the overall development in their life will be easier.

Month long Training Programme

Smt Yogamaya Acharya, President, Neyveli Ladies Club and The Sneha Opportunity Services in her address said as a result of the success in training women in Women Empowerment Centre during last year with NLCIL Spending Rs.25 Lakh,  this training programme is organised to familiarize women in English Language. The programme is for 30 days. It is proposed to operate 2 batches one in the morning and other in the evening lasting 3 hours.

  NLCIL’s Contributions to Tamil Language

It is remarkable to mention that NLCIL has plans to organize programmes through this Language Command Centre for familiarizing Non Tamil speaking women with the Tamil language. Also training session is being planned to educate women to deal with Bank Transactions, Computer/Internet facility, caring for elders and up-keeping of the house and its surroundings. The first class for lessons on English language begins today (10.07.2017)
