PNB NEW CORPORATE OFFICE AT DWARKA INAUGURATED BY UNION MINISTER ARUN JAITLEY
Arun Jaitley, Union Minister of Finance inaugurates Punjab National Bank new Corporate office building at Dwarka New Delhi
Sh. Arun Jaitley, Hon’ble Union Minister of Finance & Corporate Affairs inaugurated newly constructed corporate office of Punjab National Bank at Sector 10 Dwarka New Delhi today.
- Speaking on the occasion, Sh. Jaitley lauded the efforts of the bank informing that Bank is well positioned to support country’s economic growth and is now in a turning position to support the economic growth of the country. Whereas several Public sector banks are still incurring losses, Punjab National Bank has reported an increase in net profit in the second quarter of the current financial year 2017-18, signaling that the worst is over for this public sector bank. Shri Jaitley also launched two digital products viz. PNB E Rupaya and PNB Rupay Platinum Credit Card. He said banking is economy’s lifeline and in coming days, banking will become even a bigger lifeline. He further stated that Banks in India must continue to play an important role in supporting economic growth and underlined the significance of digitalization in view of the cost of handling cash. There is subtle change in the way India and Indians now spend their money and this trend will continue further in days to come.
- Sh. Sunil Mehta, Managing Director and CEO of the Bank while welcoming Sh. Arun Jaitley, Union Minister of Finance and Sh. Shiv Pratap Shukla Mos for Finance and Shri Rajiv Kumar, Secretary Deptt. of Financial Services Govt. of India informed that the bank is committed to provide still better customer service.He also welcomed the govt. initiative to recapitalize the PSBs and said that it has instilled confidence among the PSBs and that PSBs are now more poised to implement the govt. schemes and contribute to the development of economy at large.
- Punjab National Bank has shifted its corporate office to Dwarka, with plot area of 19470 sq. mtr in six floors and three basement. The building has been constructed in a time bound programme by CPWD and the project has been completed within the sanctioned amount and handed over to PNB on turnkey basis.
5. On this occasion, Sh. Sunil Mehta, Non Executive Chairman, Sh. K.V. Brahmaji Rao, Dr. Ram S Sangapure and Sh. Sanjiv Sharan, Executive Directors, Sh. S.K. Nagpal, Chief Vigilance Officer alongwith other senior officials of the bank, other distinguished dignitaries and members of PNB Parivar were part of the function.
