Delhi Rural Development Board  sanctioned  171 schemes

To ensure development in villages in the capital, the Delhi Rural Development Board  has sanctioned 171 schemes, including for improving roads, drains , water body, Community Centre, park , Cremation Centre, Play Ground etc , to be implemented in the Rural areas at a cost of Rs 160 Crore. Development Minister Shri Gopal Rai said the Government will take all necessary steps to improve the condition of roads, parks, small drains and multipurpose community halls as well to ensure supply of water and electricity in all rural areas.

 

Apart from providing basic amenities to the people of Delhi living in urban areas, the government is committed to provide facilities to the people living in rural areas also. Board has successfully achieved its objectives Shri Rai  said. These developmental works/Projects of the Rural Development Department are executed through the Government Agencies/Department including Irrigation and Flood Control Department (Main Executing Agency), Delhi Jal Board etc. Mainly on the Gram sabha lands in rural village.

 

A meeting of Delhi Rural Development Board (DRDB) under the chairmanship of Sh. Gopal Rai, Minister of Development, Delhi was convened at Delhi Secretariaton 10.11.2017. Sh. Ramesh Bidhuri, MP and MLAs of rural villages alongwith Ms. Manisha Saxena, Secretary-cum-Development Commissioner participated in the meeting. Districts Magistrates (DMs)  & officers of Irrigation & Flood Control Department, Delhi Jal Board and Development Department were also present in the meeting.

 

The Members drew the attention towards the pendency of proposals sent to the DM offices seeking land status & litigation status reports. The Chairman stressed for time-bound action by the concerned DM in the project files of rural development. The Chairman also directed the main executing agency of rural development works viz. Irrigation & Flood Control Department to expedite preparation of project estimates and also execution of sanctioned projects within the given time-frame.

 

The Development Commissioner assured the Members that the details of all rural development schemes would be placed on the website of the Development Department so that MPs/MLAs as well as general public could see their progress online.
