Shri A.K. Bhalla, Secretary Power, Govt of India said NTPC’s methods of engaging employees and their family members was highly unique and appreciable. Addressing NTPC family as the Chief Guest during the National Finale of NTPC -Medha Pratiyogita on 10th September 2018. Shri Bhalla applauded the quizzing culture amongst the NTPC family and added that the way, manner and pattern the quiz was being conducted involving all NTPC locations with topical questions was innovative.


He said that at present when quiz shows are very few in the country, NTPC’s efforts beyond power generation in keeping its employees and family members involved deserved praise. Shri Bhalla presented awards in all the four categories to the winners in various rounds. Shri Shri Gurdeep Singh, CMD along with the Directors, employees and their families were present in large numbers to cheer the participants and enjoy the quiz.
Noted Quiz Master Shri Kunal Savarkar, CEO, Xpress Minds who has covered a 1000 quizzes across India kept the audience hooked till the end.

This year’s participation saw an overwhelming response of 3050 contestants against 1800 participants (2017) in Junior, Middle, Senior and Employees categories which is a jump of approx. 70% over last year. NTPC’s Northern Region saw the highest number of participants of around 790, which includes Employees, their spouse and Children. The buzz created around the competition which kick started on 5th August 2018 is an amalgamation of team spirit and knowledge enhancement. The Regional level of Medha Pratiyogita 2018 started on 11.08.2018 and continued up to 07.09.2018.
