PRAVEER RANJAN SENIOR IPS OFFICER APPOINTED CHIEF OF ANTI-CORRUPTION BRANCH,DELHI GOVERNMENT

New Delhi:Senior IPS officer Praveer Ranjan has been appointed the chief of Delhi government’s Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB).

The decision comes after Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal sought the replacement of five officers in the ACB last week, including the ACB’s Additional Commissioner of Police and Deputy Commissioner of Police.

Ranjan, a 1993-batch IPS officer, has replaced G C Dwivedi — an additional DCP rank officer — with whom Kejriwal reportedly had differences on a number of issues, including the overall functioning of the ACB. An officer from Union Territory cadre, Ranjan was heading the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Delhi Police.
