PNB Senior Hockey team wins the prestigious 54th Jawaharlal Nehru Senior Hockey tournament 2017
Punjab National Bank Senior Hockey team won the prestigious 54th Jawaharlal Nehru Senior Hockey tournament 2017 by defeating Punjab & Sind bank by 3-0 held at MDC, National Stadium, New Delhi on 14.11.2017. Sh. Shamsher Singh, Naveen Antil and Gagandeep Singh scored one goal each. PNB team has reached in finals for the third time continuously.PNB was runners up in the year 2015 and 2016, and this is the first time when the PNB won this prestigious tournament.
The team awarded with the Nehru Hockey Cup, trophy, and a cash prize Rs. 2.00 lakhs. Our player Mr. Gagandeep Singh Jr. declared as best defender and Sh. Jasbir Singh adjudged best goal keeper of the tournament and both the players were awarded cash prize of Rs.10000.00 each by the tournament committee.
The bank has established hockey academy since 2002 to nurture the budding hockey players, and prepare hockey players for national team.
