NBCC (India) Limited organised the 20th edition of SAMVAAD at the Convention Centre, East Kidwai Nagar, New Delhi. The two-day programme included discussions on project execution, business development, financial performance, technology adoption, human resources management and organisational growth.
The day one featured a presentation on “Cyber Hygiene” by Anish Prashad (IPS: 2003: TR) focusing on cyber security awareness, responsible digital practices and, digital fraud prevention. This was followed by a presentation by Kapil Deo Narayan, Chief Technical Examiner (CTE), Central Vigilance Commission (CVC), providing insights into technical examination, vigilance, quality-related aspects of major government construction projects, and various aspects of efficient contract management. The sessions were a part of three month campaign as a prelude to the Vigilance Awareness Week, with the theme “सत्यनिष्ठा से समृद्धि” – “Probity for Prosperity”. The campaign focuses on disposal of pending complaints, disposal of pending cases, capacity building programmes, digital initiatives and contract management.
The programme further featured two sessions by the Building Materials and Technology Promotion Council (BMTPC) on New Construction Technology, covering modern construction techniques, building materials and emerging solutions for the construction sector. NBCC Shram Sewa Portal was also inaugurated reflecting the organisation’s continued efforts towards digitalisation and manpower-centric service delivery. Provisions of the Industrial Relations and Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Code, 2020, reinforcing the importance of statutory compliance and workplace safety were also discussed.
The second day focused on performance of various projects against allotted turnover targets, MoU evaluation criteria and targets. Detailed discussions were held on desired improvements and strategic priorities. Topics like business development, OSD realisation, closure of completed projects, contract management, financial closure of projects, Internal Audit , HR and manpower were also discussed.
