National Green Tribunal Observes World Environment Day with Plantation Drive Led by Hon’ble Mr. Justice Prakash Shrivastava, Chairperson, NGT, Principal Bench New Delhi
New Delhi: – In observance of World Environment Day 2025 on June 5, 2025 the National Green Tribunal (NGT) organized a plantation drives at in its premises in New Delhi.
(The initiative was spearheaded by Hon’ble Mr. Justice Prakash Shrivastava, Chairperson, NGT, in the august presence of other esteemed members of the Tribunal)
This year’s World Environment Day, under the theme “Ending Plastic Pollution”, calls for collective global action to tackle one of the most pressing environmental challenges of our time — plastic waste. The NGT’s plantation drive reaffirms its commitment to environmental protection and sustainable practices, Hon’ble Mr. Justice Shrivastava in his address emphasized the critical role of judicial and institutional leadership in promoting ecological responsibility. He called upon all citizens to actively participate in preserving the environment by adopting eco-conscious habits in their daily lives. The event was marked by the planting of a variety of indigenous saplings across the Tribunal premises, symbolizing hope and action for a greener future.
