Smt. Sheila Dikshit ,Honorable Chief Minister Delhi and Chairperson DJB today inaugurated the National workshop on Rain Water Harvesting-Sustainable solutions to water problems of NCT of Delhi organised by Delhi Jal Board at the Delhi Secretariat main auditorium. Speaking on the occasion Ms. Dikshit said that if we have brought electricity under control we will bring water shortage also simply by implementing water saving methods such as of Rain water harvesting,adding to this she said that there is a water wastage of 40% and even if it is minimized by 16-20% the city water shortage crisis can solved and is definitely possible if each and every resident of Delhi contribute to the same.
Also present on the occassion were the CEO of Delhi Jal Board,Ms.Debashree Mukherjee,Addl. CEO of Delhi Jal Board Dr. Bipin Behari and Mr. K.S.Mehra,Principal Secretary,representative of RWA’s ,several NGO’s,and distinguished personalities from IIT.
