DSGPC AND SHIROMANI AKALI DAL MEMBERS HOLD PROTEST AT 24 AKBAR ROAD FOR RAHUL GANDHI COMMENTS OVER 1984 RIOTS

New Delhi: Delhi Sikh Gurudwara committee and Shiromani Akali Dal party members are holding a protest at the headquarters ofIndian National Congress party at 24 Akbar road. The protest is against Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi’s comment over the 1984 Anti Sikh riots recently.

“We want an SIT to probe the 1984 riots. Those found guilty should be hanged. We want justice. The Congress is responsible for the 1984 riots,” the protestors said.

Rahul, had in a television interview, refused to apologise for the anti-Sikh riots in which a lot of people had lost their lives. The protestors are demanding an apology from the Congress Vice President.

However, Congress leaders have defended Rahul saying that he was not even remotely linked with the incident and both Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minster Manmohan Singh had “apologised to the Sikh community”.
