Diljit Dosanjh movie ‘Satluj’ removed in just 2 days from it’s release on OTT Zee5 in INDIA.

July 5, 2026

Diljit Dosanjh’s long-awaited film Punjab 95, which was released on ZEE5 under the new title Satluj on July 3, has been taken down from the streaming platform in India.

Originally titled Punjab 95, the film was submitted to the CBFC in 2022, but remained caught in the certification process for nearly three years

Confirming the development, ZEE5 shared an official statement on Instagram, thanking viewers for the overwhelming response the film received following its release.

Satluj (formerly titled Punjab ’95) is a biographical crime drama directed by Honey Trehan, starring Diljit Dosanjh as real-life human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra. It depicts his investigation into the state-sanctioned extrajudicial killings of over 25,000 civilians ininsurgency-era Punjab.

The movie faced a grueling four-year censorship battle and was forced to drop its theatrical release. It globally premiered uncut on ZEE5 Global on July 3, 2026, though it has been temporarily pulled from ZEE5 India for “current developments” and remains unavailable in the region.
