Shri I.J. Kapoor, Director (Commercial) NTPC Limited met Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Dr. Mukul Sangma, and discussed various issues such as NTPC’s presence in the North Eastern Region, growing power demand of Meghalaya, NTPC’s future capacity addition plans, coal shortages, need for coal regulator, etc were deliberated at length. The Chief Minister assured NTPC of necessary support and the cooperation in meeting the energy requirements of the state

 

Shri Kapoor impressed upon the Chief Minister that NTPC can help the state of Meghalaya to meet its growing power demand from upcoming projects including Bongaigaon. Chief Minister assured his full co-operation in timely payment of NTPC’s dues. Shri Malvinder S. Soin, Regional Executive Director (East – II) of NTPC Limited was present during the meeting.

 

The Eastern Region II of NTPC comprises the two operating stations in Angul district of Odisha, with two more in the making in Sundargarh and Dhenkanal districts of the state, besides one under construction in Kokrajhar district of Assam.
