NTPC-SAIL Power Company Pvt Ltd (NSPCL), a joint venture of two Maharatna companies, NTPC Limited and Steel Authority of India Limited, paid a dividend of Rs. 57.03 crore each to both the shareholders on 3rd July’2012.
Ever since its inception in March 2001, NSPCL has been a dividend paying company continuously and for the year 2011-12, NSPCL has paid out dividend of Rs. 114. 06 crore which works out to 12% of equity capital. NSPCL recorded a total income of Rs. 2481.41 crore during 2011-12 with net profit after tax at Rs. 194.22 crore and total power generation for year stood at 6630.26 million units.
Shri Vishwaroop, CEO, NSPCL informed that the Bhilai Power Plant (2×250 MW) has been continuously exhibiting excellent performance since its commissioning and has secured 1st rank amongst all the coal based plants in the country during June’2012 as well as in 1st quarter of this FY 2012-13. In addition, all the captive power plants at Durgapur, Rourkela and Bhilai are also generating at more than 90% PLF.
Apart from this, NSPCL is also planning to add additional 2X250 MW capacity at Bhilai and 1X250 MW capacity at Rourkela unit. Besides, NSPCL is also planning to venture in Solar Power generation.
