14.4 KG GANJA RECOVERED BY RAJOURI GARDEN POLICE STAFF BY ARRESTING TWO DRUG PEDDLERS

DRUG PEDDLERS ARRESTED

 

                The staff of Police Station Rajouri Garden, West District has arrested two drug peddlers namely Keshab Barman  and Gopal Sarkar and recovered 14.4 Kgs of Ganja from their possession.

  1. Keshab Barman  S/o Satish Barman R/o Village Ruer Kuti, Distt. Kuch Bihar, West Bengal.

I.    FIR NO. 10/13 U/s 20/61/85 NDPS ACT P.S. Khayla.

 

  1. Gopal Sarkar S/o Praneshwar Sarkar R/o Village Gauripur, Near Kalibari Mandir, Distt. Dhubri, Assam.

 

 

PREVIOUS INVOLVEMENT- NIL

FIR No. 751/13 dated 28.11.13 u/s 20/61/85 NPDS Act P.S. Rajouri Garden.

 

 

INFORMATION/OPERATION & TEAM

 

A secret information was received that some persons are indulging in trafficking of narcotics substances in the area of P. S. Rajouri Garden. On receipt of the information, a team of consisting ASI Ishwar Dayal, HC Anil Kumar 487/West, Ct. Vivek Kumar 1496/West and HC Sugan Singh 103/West under the close supervision of SHO/Police Station Rajouri Garden, Inspector Praveen Kumar was constituted and they were deployed at strategic locations.

 

On 28.11.2013, at about 6.30 PM while they were deployed for Picket Duty in the area of PS Rajouri Garden they spotted two persons carrying plastic bags.  They were signal to stop by the police but they tried to escape.  They were immediately apprehended and on conducting their search 14.4 Kgs. Ganjas was recovered.  A case vide FIR 751/13 dated 28.11.13 u/s 20/61/85 NPDS Act was registered in P.S. Rajouri Garden and investigation has been taken up.  Interrogation further reveals that accused Keshab Barman was earlier arrested in a case FIR No. 10/13 u/s 20/61/85 registered at PS Khyala and 3.6 Kgs. Ganja were  recovered from his possession.  Their modus of operandi was to bring Ganjas from their hometown and they used to sell in local market at the rate of Rs. 4000-4500 per Kg. Further, investigation about the source is continuing.

 

The Staff involved in good work is being rewarded suitably.
