Union Cabinet gives International airport status to Kushinagar Airport

Union Cabinet has given International Airport status to Kushinagar Airport in Uttar Pradesh. The International status to the Airport will end in boosting domestic/international of tourism and economic development of the regions. It will be a crucial strategic location with the international border accessible.

A 3-km-long runway strip has already been made. Now, even an enormous aircraft of Airbus can land at the airport.

Kushinagar is located within the north-eastern a part of Uttar Pradesh about 50 km east of Gorakhpur and is one among the important Buddhist pilgrimage sites.
