SPECIAL SAFETY TRAINING IMPARTED TO NLC CONTRACT EMPLOYEES

Neyveli, Feb : A one day training programme on safety and health for workmen was organized on 27-01-2016 at TPS-II Expansion, Neyveli. The contract workmen and epartmental workmen in large numbers participated in the training programme which was conducted by Shri R. Rajasekaran, Joint Director, Industrial Safety & Health, Cuddalore Zone, Govt. of Tamil Nadu.

Much emphasize was given for wearing of personal safety appliances in work places. Also various unsafe conditions and unsafe practices were explained to the participants. Methods to overcome the problems were shown through power point presentation. Details with regard to fire safety and accident case analysis were also elaborated in detail by the Joint Director.

Various occupational diseases and ways for mitigation of each were explained by Medical Officers of NLC GH. Details of causes for occurrences of accident and ways to be adopted to avoid the same were also explained by Safety Officers of NLC Limited.

The programme was inaugurated by Shri S. Sankaran, Chief General Manager/TPS-II & Expansion in the presence of General Managers of TPS-II Expansion and TPS-II with large number of executives. At the end of the training, a quiz programme was conducted for the contract workmen to test their general awareness towards safety and health. Prizes were distributed to the successful participants.

Certificate of participation was issued to all participants who had attended the training programme. Earlier, safety pledge was administered to all by Shri R. Rajasekaran.
