 Special Cell Delhi police arrests Notorious kingpin and Highway dacoit Sultan Ali Ahmed alongwith his dacoit associate brother Irfan Ali Ahmed.

• Notorious kingpin and Highway dacoit Sultan Ali Ahmed alongwith his dacoit associate brother Irfan Ali Ahmed arrested.

• Both wanted in several cases of looting of trucks, loaded with different commodities after tying/murdering and throwing away the drivers and cleaners.

• Plan to commit further armed dacoity of trucks loaded with different commodities foiled.

• Two pistols alongwith 2 live cartridges recovered from them.

A team of officers of Special Cell/Northern Range, led by Inspector Pankaj Sood under the supervision of Shri Ved Prakash, ACP has arrested notorious Highway dacoit namely Sultan Ali Ahmed (aged 29 years) s/o Manjoor Ali r/o Village Gurgaon, Tehsil Pokhrayan, District Mati Kanpur Dehat, PS Bhognipur, UP alongwith his younger brother Irfan Ali Ahmed (aged 22 years) from Begampur-Barwala Chowk, Rithala Road, Delhi. Their plan to commit dacoities of trucks, loaded with different commodities, in the area of Delhi has been foiled. Two pistols alongwith 2 live cartridges were recovered from their possession.

Information was received that some members of a gang, involved in several sensational Highway dacoities, led by Sultan Ali Ahmed would assemble at Begampur-Barwala Chowk, Rithala Road, Delhi on 30/09/2013 at about 03:00 PM. These desperados had the plan to commit robbery/dacoity of loaded trucks.

A raiding party was constituted and raided a spot near Begampur-Barwala Chowk, Rithala Road, Delhi. Sultan Ali Ahmed alongwith his younger brother Irfan Ali Ahmed were found sitting in the shadow of a tree. They were quickly cordoned and overpowered without giving them chance to escape. The cursory search of both these dacoits led to the recovery of pistol alongwith one live cartridge from each of them. A case FIR No.  40/2013 dated 30.09.2013 u/s 25 Arms Act has been registered at PS Special Cell, Delhi and both have been arrested.

Interrogation of Sultan Ali Ahmed:

Sultan Ali Ahmed is an illiterate.  In the year 2000/01, father of Sultan Ali shifted to Delhi. Thereafter, members of the family started shifted to Delhi one by one. In the year 2007-08, Sultan Ali Ahmed also shifted to Delhi and stayed at different addresses on rent. Sultan Ali Ahmed started his criminal carrier in the year 2009 when he committed several vehicle thefts in Delhi in association with one Aslam r/o Bihar, who used to play auto-rickshaw in Delhi. He was arrested on 03/11/2009 in below-mentioned 4 cases of auto-theft :

1. Case FIR No. 486/2009 u/s 379/411 IPC PS Prashant Vihar, Delhi. (Theft of TATA 407)

(Avoiding his court dates and has been absconding after releasing on bail)

2. Case FIR No. 370/2009 u/s 379/411 IPC PS Mangol Puri, Delhi. (Theft of TATA 407)

(Avoiding his court dates after releasing on bail, has been declared Proclaimed Offender)

3. Case FIR No.2810/2009 u/s 379/411 IPC PS Sarai Rohilla, Delhi. (Theft of M/Cy)

(Avoiding his court dates and has been absconding after releasing on bail)

4. Case FIR No. 164/2009 u/s 379 IPC PS Naraina, Delhi. (Theft of TATA 407)

(Acquitted during trial)

Sultan Ali Ahmed remained in Delhi jail for about 05/06 months. After releasing on bail, he went to his village and associated himself with a gang of Highway Dacoits being led by one of his cousin namely Appu Ali @ Appu.

In the year 2010, Sultan Ali Ahmed alongwith 9 of his associate dacoits looted a truck loaded with “Pepsi” on gun point from Shahjahan-Sitapur Road from the area of PS Mohali, District Sitapur, UP. They tied the driver and cleaner with the rope. Cleaner of the truck tried to resist and objected, hence, they killed him by strangulation. They took the money of driver and cleaner and threw them out of the truck on a lonely place area of PS Mohali, District Sitapur, UP. Case vide FIR No. 252/2010 u/s 396/302 IPC was registered at PS Mohali, Sitapur, UP in that regard. After few days, while transporting the looted truck to their safe hide-out, they were spotted by the police. In order to escape, they fired at the police and run away. During cross firing with the police, some of his associates were apprehended while he alongwith others fled away. Case FIR No. 276/2010 u/s 307/147/148/149 IPC & 25/27 Arms Act was registered at PS Mohali, Sitapur, UP in that regard.

Sultan Ali Ahmed immediately fled back to Delhi but he was caught once again by Delhi Police on 04/07/2010 and was subsequently arrested in these cases. He was sent to Sitapur Jail, UP. In Sitapur Jail, he came in contact with one Sharif Banjara. Sharif Banjara was release from the jail prior to Sultan Ali. In January/February, 2013, Sultan Ali was released on bail and has been avoiding his court dates and absconding in both these cases after releasing on bail. After his release, Sultan Ali Ahmed immediately contacted Sharif Banjara.

Sultan Ali and Sharif Banjara associated their relative and again planned to commit same sensational crimes. In the month of May/June, 2013, they looted a truck loaded with “Roohafjah” drink from the area of Agra Dehat, UP on gun point. They tied the driver and cleaner with the rope, looted their cash and threw them away out of the truck on a lonely place on the highway. Case I this regard has been registered at PS Sadar, Agra, UP. They transported the loaded truck to Pokhrayan, Kanpur Dehat, UP. They tried to sale off the loaded truck but could not succeed. Local police located the truck near Musa Nagar, Kanpur Dehat, UP and Sultan Ali Ahmed alongwith his associates managed to escape.  Sultan Ali has been absconding in this case.

After failing in this effort, Sultan Ali Ahmed organized his own syndicate associating his brother Irfan, brother-in-law Mohd Idrish @ Guddu, cousins and friends. In the intervening night of 1-2/08/2013, Sultan Ali alongwith 7 of his associates including his brother Irfan again looted a truck containing 150 bags of sugar on gun point from the area of PS Mangalpur, Kanpur Dehat, UP. They tied driver and cleaner with rope and looted the cash from them.  A case FIR No. 333/2013 dated 02/08/2013 u/s 396 IPC was registered at PS Mangalpur, Kanpur Dehat, UP. Soon after the looting, they were chased by the police. Sultan Ali alongwith his brother Irfan and some other associates managed to escape whereas his brother-in-law Mohd Idrish @ Guddu and one of his cousin Appu Ali were arrested.

After escaping, Sultan Ali and his brother Irfan again came back to Delhi and hiding in the area of Aman Vihar/Sultanpuri, Delhi.

Involvements of Sultan Ali Ahmed :

Interrogation of Irfan Ali Ahmed:

Irfan Ali Ahmed has been educated upto 5th class in his village.  In the year 2000/01, father of Irfan Ali shifted to Delhi. Thereafter, members of the family started shifted to Delhi one by one. In the year 2007-08, he also shifted to Delhi and joined his family. In the year 2012, Irfan got the job of driver on the truck of one Krishan who has his Cement Plant in the area of Uskhera, Rajasthan. Irfan Ali Ahmed used to take the truck loaded with Bags of Cement to Noida, UP and supply the Bags to different shops as per the direction of Krishan.

In the month of March/April, 2013, Irfan Ali Ahmed took the truck loaded with 300 bags of Cements to Noida. Instead of supplying it to the destination shops, he sold the 300 bags to another shop at much lesser price. He abandoned the truck in the area of PS Kavi Nagar, Gaziabad, UP and fled away to his village at Mati Kanpur Dehat.

While he was concealing himself, his brother Sultan Ali Ahmed came to village and told him to join the syndicate of Highway Dacoits with which he was associated. Sultan Ali Ahmed introduced him with Sharif Banjara. In the month of May/June, 2013 Irfan Ali in association of Sharif Banjara and others looted a truck loaded with 320 bags of sugar on gun point from Shahjahanpur-Sitapur Road.

They tied driver and cleaner with rope and looted the cash from them. They sold the sugar bags in the area of Akbarpur, Kanpur. They contacted one Bhura of Ferozabad, UP to sale the looted truck. While Irfan and one of his associate namely Arshad were going to Ferozabad, UP, they were cordoned by the police. Irfan Ali managed to escape whereas Arshad was apprehended and the empty truck was recovered.

In the intervening night of 1-2/08/2013, Irfan Ali alongwith 7 of his associates including his brother Sultan Ali again looted a truck containing 150 bags of sugar on gun point from the area of PS Mangalpur, Kanpur Dehat, UP. They tied driver and cleaner with rope and looted the cash from them.  A case FIR No. 333/2013 dated 02/08/2013 u/s 396 IPC was registered at PS Mangalpur, Kanpur Dehat, UP. Soon after the looting, they were chased by the police. Irfan Ali Ahmed alongwith his kingpin brother Sultan and some other associates managed to escape.

The arrestees are the highly desperate members of dreaded highway dacoits. There other involvements are being verified. Concerned Police Stations are being informed. Further investigation is in progress.
