SENSATIONAL BRUTAL MURDER CASE OF AN OLD LADY WORKED OUT BY SOUTH DISTRICT ,DELHI POLICE, ACCUSED DAUGHTER-IN-LAW ARRESTED  

BRIEF FACTS :

On 29.08.13, a PCR call regarding quarrel at R-39, GF, Khirki Extension, New Delhi was received at P.S. Malviya Nagar.  Immediately, local police reached the spot where it came to know that two ladies had sustained injuries and they had been shifted to JPNATC AIIMS, New Delhi.  One of the injured ladies namely Madhu w/o late Ramesh Dawar R/o R-39, Khirki Extension, New Delhi was declared brought dead by the doctors and another injured lady namely Rachna w/o Deepak was found admitted with injuries abrasion over left forearm and left foot.  Statement of Smt. Rachna was recorded, which revealed that on 29/08/13 she along with her mother-in-law Smt. Madhu and her daughter was present in the house.  One person came to their house with whom her mother-in-law had earlier discussed with him for depositing their gold jewelry in the bank.  Meanwhile, that person attacked the complainant with a kitchen knife and also hit her mother-in-law with a blunt object on her head. Rachna locked herself in a room of the house.  She informed her husband, brother and mother about the incident through her mobile phone.  Their house was ransacked.  In this regard, a case vide FIR No. 432/13 dated 29/08/13 u/s 302/394/323 IPC was registered at PS Malviya Nagar and investigation was taken up.

Investigation :

In order to apprehend the criminals involved in the crime, a team comprising Inspr. Vijaypal Singh, SHO/Malviya Nagar, Inspr. Rajender Singh, I/C STF/SD, SI S.S. Yadav, SI Shambhu Nath, ASI Kishore Kumar, HC Manoj, Ct. Manoj and Ct. Kuldeep under the supervision of ACP/Hauz Khas was constituted. During investigation, opinion regarding injuries over the body of Smt. Rachna was sought from the Department of Forensic Medicine, JPNATC as there were certain contradictions in the statement of the complainant.  The doctor opined that these injuries might be self-inflicted, caused by sharp / pointed weapon, simple in nature and fresh in duration.  Hence, the investigation was focused on Smt. Rachna.

During interrogation, complainant Rachna stated different theories regarding the incident and it came to notice that nothing was stolen from the house and all the jewelry articles were found intact in the room of Ms. Rachna.   Finally, on sustained interrogation, Smt. Rachna broke down and disclosed that she had killed her mother-in-law Madhu with a hammer kept in the house.  She also disclosed that on 29/08/13, she had some hot arguments with the deceased.  Her mother-in-law had slapped her twice and threw a Chappal on her. Thereafter, she came to her room and took a hammer and hit the same on the head of her mother-in-law twice. After that she manipulated the scene of crime and ransacked the house to create a scene of robbery.  She inflicted minor injuries on her left forearm and left foot with the help of a kitchen knife.  After that she locked herself in her room and informed her husband, brother and mother regarding the manipulated story.  She also bolted the house of her immediate neighbour from the outside to ensure that nobody could be witness the incident.  Subsequently, accused Rachna w/o Deepak Kumar was arrested.

PROFILE OF THE ACCUSED:

Accused Rachna (25 years) was born in Jaipur. Her father was a Draughtsman in Military Engineering Services and was posted at Jaipur.  She is graduate in Political Science from Delhi University.  She was married in the year 2010 with Deepak Dawar S/o Late Sh. Ramesh Dawar R/o Chirag Delhi, New Delhi. Her husband is a Charted Accountant and is working with Religare as Senior Manager. In April 2012, they had shifted to the present address i.e. R-39, Khirki Extension, New Delhi.

 Staff involved in good work is being rewarded suitably.
