REPORTER LIVE STREAMS CLOSED WHITE HOUSE PRESS BRIEFING

Ksenija Pavlovic used Periscope to capture audio of the closed press briefing and also tweeted a link to the feed, The Washington Post said.

The founder of news website Pavlovic Today recorded 17 minutes of the briefing before the feed cut out, but immediately afterward she started a new feed which lasted for 31 minutes.

Fox News reports that in the audio, deputy White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders can be heard introducing the director of legislative affairs Marc Short and later Sanders answers questions from the press.

Since June 29 Donald Trump has told the press not to broadcast directly from press briefings and although the press has argued this restriction is untenable, it appears this is the first time someone has broken the rule on purpose.

Since the ruling, audio from a press briefing has been broadcast on three cable news networks, however this was due to confusion about broadcasting on a delay.
