Implementation of Digital Payment System at Corporate Office’s Cafeterias and Canteen
Punjab National Bank, India’s Largest Nationalized Bank today announced Implementation of Digital Payment System at its Corporate Office’s various Cafeterias and Canteen so as to enable Cashless and Digital transactions through Bharat QR, BHIM and Integrated Fee Portal (IFP).
Shri. Sunil Mehta, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer inaugurated the Digital Payment System across its Corporate Office’s 10 Cafeterias and a Canteen. The occasion was also graced by Shri. Lingam Venkata Prabhakar, Executive Director and all Corporate General Managers.
This step is in line with the Prime Minister’s agenda of “Digital India” and will be a welcome step for inculcating the habit of Digital Banking amongst Staff members and project the Bank’s Corporate Office as a Cashless Banking model for the field to emulate.
Speaking at the occasion, Shri Sunil Mehta, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer observed “In order to position our Bank as a truly Digital & Future Ready Bank, it is necessary to inculcate the habit of using the Digital means by Staff in their day to day transactions, so as to be conversant with the digital ways of Banking and in turn also onboard customers on Digital mode”. He also said that the Corporate Office at Dwarka which is already a ‘Green Building’ having 5 Star GRIHA Rating has today also transformed into a ‘Digital Banking Building’.
This is one of the steps in the line with the Bank’s transformation exercise named Mission Parivartan involving an element of “Alternate Delivery Channels” so as to position PNB as the “Preferred National Bank”.
