PNB Bagged the Blue Dart Star News “Overall Best Corporate Social Responsibility”..
Punjab National Bank has been conferred with the “Overall Best Corporate Social Responsibility” Awards 2012 by Blue Dart Star News on World CSR Day (18th February). On behalf of the Bank, the Award was received by Sh. K. K. Aravindakshan, Field General Manager, Punjab National Bank, from the august hands of Hon’ble Union Minister for Corporate Affairs, Dr. M. Veerappa Moily on 18th February’12 in Mumbai.
With a 117 year long tradition in providing excellent banking services to it over 70 million satisfied customers, Punjab National Bank has also remained committed towards Triple Bottomline viz. PPP (People, Planet and Profit).
Punjab National Bank is perhaps the first Bank amongst the league to come out with an exclusive CSR Report. Bank has also formed PNB Prerna, an association of wives of senior management of the Bank to carry forward the CSR agenda of the Bank. Bank has also set up 2 trusts viz. PNB Farmers’ Welfare Trust and PNB Centenary Rural Development Trust. These trusts with the help of its constituents, i.e.10 Farmers Training Centres (FTCs) and 30 Rural Self Employment Institutes (RSETIs), are working towards the empowerment and skilling of the underprivileged strata. With the help of 58 Financial Literacy and Credit Counselling Centres (FLCCCs), Bank has also facilitated spread of financial literacy amongst the poor section of the society. Bank has also made concerted efforts towards conservation of natural resources and environment.
Punjab National Bank has been bestowed upon various awards and accolades for its work in the field of Corporate Social Responsibility with last being “Most Socially Responsive Bank by Business World – PWC”.
