NLC AWARDED THE EXCELLENCE COST MANAGEMENT AWARD -2014
The Institute of Cost Accountants of India has awarded the Excellence Cost Management Award – 2014 to NLC to recognize its cost control measures.
Neyveli Lignite Corporation is a Navratna PSU, incorporated in 1956 having the largest open cast mines in Asia. NLC is pioneer in producing the power by using Lignite and has ambitious plans of expansion in renewable energy sector. Output per man-shift is competitive with other coal producing companies. NLC is earning profit for more than three decades consistently.

NLC has good performance in many fields viz., CSR, Safety & Mining and in recognition, NLC got many laurels and awards. NLC got this award for third time and also got this award for Excellence in Cost Management during 2008 and 2012.
In the 12th National Award for Excellence in Cost Management-2014 Presentation Ceremony at New Delhi on 15-07-2015, Rajyavardhan Rathore, Union Minister of State for Information & Broadcasting presented the National Cost Management Award -2014 to NLC and B.Surender Mohan, CMD and Rakesh Kumar, Director/Finance, NLC received the award on behalf of NLC.
