INTERACTION PROGRAMME OF POLICE MITRAS OF NORTH ZONE PRESIDED BY CP/DELHI ON 23.02.17 AT AIWAN-E-GHALIB
All the three Ranges and seven Districts of North Zone of Delhi Police organized an interaction programme with Police Mitras at Aiwan-e-Ghalib auditorium, New Delhi on 23.02.17 from 4 pm onwards. Sh. Amulya Patnaik, Commissioner of Police, Delhi presided over the function. The same was attended by 370 Police Mitras. Besides, Sh. P. Kamraj Spl CP/L & O (South), Sh. SBK Singh, Spl CP/L & O (North), Sh. Deepender Pathak, Spl CP/South Western Range, Sh. Sanjay Singh, Spl CP/Northern Range, Sh. Virender Chahal, Jt CP/Central Range, Sh. Satish Golcha, Jt CP/Eastern Range and DCsP/ACsP/SHOs of all the seven Districts of North Zone were also present during the program.
Based on their participation in day to day community policing schemes and crime prevention strategies, 5 to 10 persons from each police station have been selected to work as Police Mitras with an aim to involve them in prevention of crime, maintenance of law and order and to ensure better interface with the local residents. These Police Mitras hail from various walks of the society including senior citizens, respectables, RWA/MWA representatives etc. The program was organized with a view to boost the quality of policing in the area and assist the local police in dealing with the complex challenges and also to meet the increasing expectations of the citizens. These Police Mitras are expected to remain in touch with the local ACP and SHO of the area and help them in taking various initiatives of community policing and also to share information on crimes and other suspicious activities in the area. This initiative is also a part of the idea spelled out by the Hon’ble PM of India during DGP/IGP Annual Conference held in September, 2016.
At the outset of the programme, the chief guest Shri Amulya Patnaik was given Guard of Honour. Sh. SBK Singh, Spl. CP/L & O (North) welcomed all the officers and Police Mitras. A documentary on the role of Police Mitras was shown to all the participants. The stage was hosted by Ms. Nupur Prasad DCP/Shahdara District. Thereafter, 16 Police Mitras were felicitated by CP/Delhi who were also given commendation certificates for the commendable work done by them. The program ended with the vote of thanks given by Sh. Sanjay Singh Spl. CP/Northern Range.
