INDRANI MUKERJEA UNCONCIOUS SINCE 2PM ,DOCTOR STATES CONDITION SERIOUS

MUMBAI:   Indrani Mukerjea, Former media executive who is accused of murdering her daughter Sheena Bora, was today rushed to a Mumbai hospital from Byculla Women’s Jail after she consumed pills, and has been unconscious since 2 pm, doctors said.

“She was brought here at 2 pm. She is unconscious since then. We have done the MRI. We think she has consumed some tablets,” TP Lahane, Dean of JJ Hospital, told reporters.

“She is unconscious, her condition is serious,” he said.”We have taken her gastric lavage and sent it to the forensic for investigation. There is respiratory repression. We are giving oxygen and she is admitted in CCU. Whatever toxic has been there, if it has been gone out of the body, then I think, it should be clear to us within the next 24 hours to check the response. It will take at least 24 hours,” Dr Lahane added.

43-year-old Ms Mukerjea was arrested in August and has been in judicial custody since September 7. She was taken to the hospital after she complained of “uneasiness”, said DCP (Detection-1) Mohan Dahikar.
