GANG OF ROAD ROBBERS USING KHAKHI UNIFORMS BUSTED AND ARRESTED 3 ACCUSED PERSONS.

➢ SENSATIONAL DAY LIGHT ARMED ROBBERY OF MAYUR VIHAR WORKED OUT

INTRODUCTION:-
With the arrest of three criminals namely (1) Bharat Bhushan Datta, aged 36 years, (2) Pankaj @ Naresh Pandit, aged- 27 yrs, & (3) Ravi Datta @ Amit, aged-29 yrs, Special Team of Crime Branch, Delhi has busted a gang of dreaded and desperate robbers using/wearing KHAKI uniforms. With their arrest a sensational case of DAY LIGHT ARMED ROBBERY reported vide FIR No. 255/17, dated 15.07.17, u/s 392/397/34 IPC PS Mayur Vihar, Delhi has been worked out.
​ In this case, a Honda city car was intercepted in broad day light at about 8:30 AM at Noida link road flyover, near Star City Mall, Mayur Vihar, Phase-1, Delhi by the assailants in KHAKHI uniform. Out of the three occupants of intercepted Honda city car, one was forced to shift to their Ertiga car at gun point, whereas the other two occupants were abducted into the Honda city car. After some distance, all the three abducted persons were pushed out of the vehicle and the assailants fled away with Honda city car containing silver ornaments weighing more than 40 Kgs, worth lakhs of rupees.

TEAM & INCIDENT:-
In the light of incidents of day light armed robberies in Delhi in the recent past, a team of officers of Crime Branch was constituted under the close supervision of DCP Dr. G. Ramgopal Naik, led by ACP Shweta Chauhan, Insp. Sanjay Dahiya comprising of ASIs Anil & Yashpal, HCs Bhoop Singh, Parveen Yadav, Anil Hooda and Cts Deepak Malik, Sonu & Ankush, for identification of the persons involved, apprehension thereof with recoveries of weapons & robbed booty. The team constituted, has collected specific information through possible sources.
Finally, on 19.07.2017 at about 3:30 PM, the team received some specific information that three members of a desperate gang of day light robbers namely Bharat Bhushan Datta, Pankaj @ Naresh Pandit & Ravi Datta @ Amit involved in a sensational day light armed robbery of silver ornaments worth lakhs of rupees, will come near Gurdwara Siras Pur, Lower GTK road, Delhi to dispose off the booty of the robbed silver ornaments. On receipt of this information, the team immediately swung into action, and laid a trap near the place of information. At about 06:10 PM, Bharat Bhushan Datta, Pankaj @ Naresh Pandit & Ravi Datta @ Amit reached the spot in an Ertiga car and starting waiting for someone. However, sensing some trouble, at about 6:30 PM they tried to flee away, but were promptly apprehended by the team members. On conducting cursory search of Ravi Datta @ Amit, one country made pistol with two live rounds in magazine and 14 robbed silver chains with five silver coins were recovered from him.
Further Pankaj @ Naresh Pandit was apprehended with a black colour bag in his right hand, containing 111 in his pairs of silver Payals, weighing more than 5 Kg.
Further Bharat Bhushan Datta holding a white colour plastic bag filled with robbed silver ornaments was over powered, while sitting at the back seat inside the car itself. The recovered plastic bag was filled with 100 silver Pazebs, 15 silver bracelets, 2 heavy silver chains, 64 silver statues of Lord Ganesha & Goddess Laxmi, 449 Rakhies and some utensils, weighing more than 7 Kgs.

​All the three criminals disclosed to have committed the daring day light robbery of silver ornaments at gun point with their two other accomplices who are at large. Accordingly, a case FIR No. /17 dated 19.07.17 u/s 25/54/59 Arms Act & 411 IPC, PS Crime Branch, Delhi was got registered and investigation was taken up. Further efforts are continued to apprehend the remaining associates and to recover the remaining robbed booty. Concerned police station has also been informed to initiate proceedings in their case concerned.

MODUS OPERANDI :-
In order to deceive, the gang members used to wear khakhi uniforms. They follow the target in two separate vehicles (Ertiga and Elantra). At first, they would intercept the targeted vehicle on the pretext of checking the documents of the vehicle. Once the occupants of the car indulged in a conversation, they forcibly entered the vehicle with fire Arms and abducted the occupants along with their belongings and vehicle. After taking them to a remote place, they pushed out the occupants after robbing them off.

Accused Ravi Datta @ Amit has been previously involved in the following cases:-
1. FIR NO. 21/2011, U/s 365/323/380/506/34 IPC PS Binda Pur, Delhi.
2. FIR No. 512/13, U/s 307/34 IPC & 25/27 Arms Act. PS Alipur Delhi.

VII. RECOVERIES EFFECTED:-
1. One country made pistol with two live rounds.
2. 14 robbed silver chains.
3. 05 silver coins.
4. 111 pairs of silver Payals.
5. 100 silver Pazebs.
6. 15 silver bracelets.
7. 2 heavy silver chains.
8. 64 silver statue of Lord Ganesha & Goddess Laxmi.
9. 449 Rakhies made of silver and some utensils.

Further investigation is in progress.
