SANDALWOOD SMUGGLER ARRESTED
AN AUTO WITH 5383 KILOGRAMS OF SANDALWOOD RECOVERED
TWO PERSONS ARRESTED
New Delhi: With the arrest of two persons namely 1. Mohd. AsifR/o Khureji, Delhi Age 22yrs 2. Mohd. FarooqSulatanpuri, Delhi, East District police had apprehended sandal smugglers and recovered an Auto alonwith 5853 kgs of red sandalwood .
TEAM & INCIDENT
On dated 11/12/05/2015, a secret information regarding smuggling of banned red sandalwood loaded in an auto coming towards Geeta colony Pusta was received by SI Jagdeep malik of PS Geeta Colony. Immediately the information was given to SHO Geeta Colony Insp. Ranbir Singh. A team comprising SI Jagdeep Malik and others laid a trap near Shamshan Ghat , Pusta road for comprehensive checking of vehicles. During the checking, an auto bearing Number DL1 -LL-0094 was found loaded with 440 kgs of red sandalwood which is banned for carrying from one state to another. A case under appropriate sections of Forest Act was registered at PS Geeta Colony,

INVESTIGATION-

During the course of investigation, SI Jagdeep Malik got a secret information by an informer that an auto loaded with red sandalwood which is banned will come in the area of Geeta Colony. Immediately, a trap was laid out by the team of PS Geeta Colony, near Shamshan Ghat, Pusta Road and nabbed two person 1. Mohd. Asif  R/o Khureji, Delhi Age 22yrs 2. Mohd. Farooq , Sulatanpuri, Delhi along with Auto and 440 kgs of sandal wood .
INTEROGATION-
During interrogation, accused told that he used to supply these sandalwood for a person Cheena who is resident of Nepal or china and on his directions they used to supply these sandalwoods to different parts of NOIDA And U.P . On the instance of accused Mohd. Asif, raids were conducted at a godown situated at Swaroop nagar industrial area where 2823 kgs more sandalwood got recovered and at SultanPuri where another co-accused namely Mohd. Farooq , Sulatanpuri, Delhi was arrested and 2120 kgs of sandalwood recovered.
Further investigation / interrogation are in progress and efforts are being made to apprehend the remaining acussed persons .

2. Mohd. Farooq  R/o Sulatanpuri, Delhi. He is a carpenter
