Delhi Minimum Wages Advisory Committee convenes meet on minimum rate of wages

New Delhi: A meeting of Delhi Minimum Wages Advisory Committee was convened on 16/05/2016 under the Chairmanship of Secretary Cum Labour Commissioner, Labour Department, Government of NCT of Delhi.  This advisory committee comprises of representatives from Government, representatives from Employees and representatives from employers.

The meeting was convened to determine/laying down the procedure for arriving at minimum rates of wages in Delhi for schedule employments for different categories of workers, supervisors and non-managerial personnel.

A Sub-committee was constituted to undertake survey of cost-price of essential items in and around cluster areas where workers density is high. This is required for calculating value of food items required for consumption by an adult worker for specific calorie intake.

This is a new initiative of Government of Delhi for welfare of working class by fixing/ determining Minimum rates of Wages.
