DELHI JAL BOARD AND JICA ORGANIZE SEMINAR ON WATER AND WASTE WATER MANAGEMENT
DJB and JICA organize seminar on water and wastewater management
Delhi Jal Board, in its endeavor to introduce best practices in the water and wastewater sector, has been taking many measures. Introduction of latest technology in its infrastructure has enabled DJB to meet the mandate of providing potable water to the city of Delhi. DJB along with Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) organized a seminar on 27.08.2014 at the India Habitat Centre. The objective of the seminar was to share Japanese knowledge and their experience in water and wastewater management.
The seminar provided a platform for the DJB officials to interact with the various organizations working in the water and waste water sector from Japan. Officials from JICA, the Bureau of Water Works (Tokyo Metropolitan Government), TSS Tokyo Water, shared their experiences and learning during the seminar.
The CEO, DJB along with Sh. S.N.A. Najmi, Member (Finance), DJB, Sh. B.M. Dhaul, Member (Water), DJB, Sh. R.S. Tyagi, Member (Drainage), DJB, Sh. Amit Satija, Addl. CEO & Director (F&A) and other senior officers of DJB attended the seminar. Mr. Shinya Ejima, Chief Representative of India Office, JICA, along with the other officials of JICA were also present during the seminar.
The seminar focused on the challenges faced by the Water and Wastewater utility and the various initiates to meet those challenges.
DJB, through learning from these kind of platform, expects to bring in latest learnings from across the globe to bring more efficiency in its service delivery system. The emphasis of Delhi Jal Board has been on providing stable and sustainable water supply management to the entire city of Delhi.
DJB continues to add more areas, both planned and unplanned in its water supply network. It carries the works related to the up-gradation of the infrastructure i.e. repair and rehabilitation, on a constant basis. The foremost priority of DJB is to provide efficient services to its consumers in a time bound manner. DJB is in the process of revamp of its Revenue Management System. For the convenience of its consumers, it has also offered streamlined online services.
