CMD POWERGRID R.N.NAYAK CONFERRED WITH THE POWER PERSONA OF THE YEAR AWARD BY CBIP

New Delhi: R.N.Nayak, CMD POWERGRID has been felicitated with the Power Persona of the Year Award by Central Board Of Irrigation And Power (CBIP) in recognition of his contribution for accelerated development of Power Sector.

Power Grid Corporation of India Limited has also been conferred with the CBIP Award for Best Performing Transmission Utility for outstanding contribution to the Nation consistently by setting highest benchmarks in power transmission and ushering advance & innovative technologies to meet future challenges in Transmission sector in the country.

These awards were given by Shri Sanwar Lal Jat Hon’ble Union Minister of State, Ministry of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation.

POWERGRID, is a ‘Navratna CPSE’ and the Central Transmission Utility of the country and it owns & operates ~110,500 circuit kms of Extra High Voltage transmission lines, 186 EHV AC & HVDC Sub-stations with transformation capacity of ~213,800 MVA, spread across the country. It wheels about 50% of total power generated in the country, consistently maintaining the availability of its transmission network over 99% through deployment of state-of-the-art operation and maintenance techniques at par with global standards.
