CII Session on MSME Challenges and the Way Forward in Raising Funds

In a unique endeavour to highlight the diverse issues and challenges of the MSME Sector, the Confederation of Indian Industry, New Delhi organised an inter-active seminar on “MSME Challenges & the Way Forward to raise funds” at Jacaranda Hall, India Habitat Centre, Lodi Road, New Delhi which was represented by eminent personalities from CII, Delhi State Council, Director Resurgent India, Director General, NIESBUD apart from other dignitaries, financial experts, banks and all other stake holders.

Shri SR Sharma, FGM, Punjab National Bank, New Delhi was one of the special invitees from Banks to deliberate upon various bank schemes and products for funding of credit requirements of MSME Sector. In his address to the audience, Shri Sharma exhaustively highlighted the special initiatives taken by our bank to design the products to suit the emerging needs of this sector and to deliver timely credit to the MSME entrepreneurs through as many as 38 newly created MSME Service outlets in Delhi and NCR known as “MSME Growth Initiative branches.” These branches are expected to drive growth in this sector by exhibiting exemplary speed and decisiveness in the credit appraisal system.

A bank stall was also put up at the venue of the seminar in which varieties of products launched by our bank to cater to the divergent requirements of the customers were displayed. Promotional material as well as contact details of our MSME focus branches were distributed amongst attendees. Their business cards were collected to pass on their contact details to our branches.

This is a unique forum for exchanging innovative ideas for strengthening of the MSME Sector in the changed economic environment and marks a decisive step for fulfilling our bank’s commitment for the promotion and growth of this sector over a period of time. Other speakers included GM of SBOP, Director MSME Dev. Institute New Delhi and representative of ICRA.

The seminar was attended by around 200 delegates, mostly MSME entrepreneurs members of CII and financial consultants.
