Amod Kanth,Founder General Secretary, Prayas terms ITP Act as “inadequate” at the recently concluded International conference on Human Trafficking

Prayas JAC organized an International conference on Human Trafficking- Combating Human Trafficking: South Asian Solidarity Meet


Efforts would be made to amend the Child labour Prohibition Act in current session of the Parliament. Hon’ble Minister Mr. Oscar Fernandez was present in the concluding session of the 2 days International conference on Human Trafficking organized by Prayas JAc on 3rd & 4TH February,2014 at IIC, New Delhi,India. The commitments & recommendations of the conference was exhibited before the Hon’ble Minister, especially focusing the rehabilitative measures, cross border trafficking, causes & dimensions of human trafficking in the SAARC region. He assured to take these relevant issues in the Upcoming SAARC Summit. He appreciated the initiative of Prayas of bringing together representatives of SAARC Nation and share their experience and find out a solution through common consensus.
Amod Kanth,Founder General Secretary, Prayas termed ITP Act as “inadequate”. He shared, registration of case is another area of concern, even if registered investigation is not done with all serious; quality research is very much lacking.He showed concern about loose security on the border acting as a major stumbling block.
