Air Chief Visits Jodhpur Airbase
Air Chief Marshal NAK Browne, the Chief of the Air Staff, is on a day’s visit to Jodhpur airbase. Accompanied by Mrs. Kiran Browne, President Air Force Wives Welfare Association (AFWWA), they were received by Air Commodore RN Gaekwad and Mrs Rupali Gaekwad.The Air Chief who was presented with a Guard of Honour on his arrival, met the station personnel and key appointments. He also visited the units and squadrons based at the station and interacted with the squadron officers.Addressing the station, he said, “As part of IAF’s modernisation drive, your base like all our other bases are undergoing a fair amount of transformation. Managing these changes is a challenge before us and I am fully confident that my people are fully capable of meeting these challenges”. “We have identified our training and consolidation requirements as the key focus areas but it is our people who are our real enablers. Their care is most important. As leaders, we must recognise efforts and ensure that they are acknowledged,” he further added. The Air Chief reviewed all the operational installations and new inductions at the base. This was the Air Chief’s first visit to Jodhpur airbase, after taking over as the Chief of the Air Staff on 01 August 2011. He would also be visiting Command Headquarters South Western Air Command (SWAC) at Gandhinagar over the next two days and would be interacting with all the Commanders under the South Western Air Command |
