VIDEO OF ARMY USING CIVILIAN AS HUMAN SHIELD GOES VIRAL

SRINAGAR:- A video clip showing a young man tied to the front of an army vehicle passing through villages of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district has taken social media by storm.

According to reports, the young man was tied to the front of the jeep to make sure no stones were thrown at the army vehicle while passing through Gundipora village of Beerwah where a re-poll was held on Thursday.

The 16 second video has sparked an outrage with  Netizens, human rights activists and political leaders reacting to the army move with shock.

In the video a warnings over loud hailers can also be heard from Army saying stone pelters will meet this fate.

The video was apparently shot during re-polling in Budgam on April 13, according to human rights activist Khurram Pervez.

Former Chief Minister of the Jammu and Kashmir and MLA Beerwah, took to the micro blogging site twitter to condemn the move.

Omar posted the picture and the video of the man and wrote:

“This young man was TIED to the front of an army jeep to make sure no stones were thrown at the jeep? This is just so shocking!!!! #Kashmir”.
