Smt. Sheila Dikshit, Hon’ble Chief Minister, Delhi inaugurates the 21.4 ML..


 New Delhi : 11 Feb,2012 :  Smt. Sheila Dikshit, Hon’ble Chief Minister, Delhi and Chairperson, Delhi Jal Board, inaugurated the 21.4 ML capacity Under Ground Reservoir  Booster Pumping Station, today at Pitampura, in the presence of       Sh. Ramesh Negi, CEO, DJB, Sh. B.M. Dhaul, Member (Water Supply) and other Senior Officer/Officials of Delhi Jal Board.

 

Speaking on this occasion, Smt. Sheila Dikshit, Hon’ble Chief Minister Delhi and Chairperson of Delhi Jal Board said that she feels, “immense happiness at the commissioning of the UGR which would benefit  over 2.50 lac residents in the Pitampura area. In order to rationalize distribution of water 33 newUnderground Reservoirs have already in been built Delhiand operationalised. Today, the 34th UGR is being inaugurated and many more UGR’s are proposed to be built to ensure equitable water supply for all the citizens ofDelhi”. She also congratulated Delhi Jal Board for the completion of the UGR and Booster Pumping Station.

 

The new Underground Reservoir at Pitampura with a capacity of 21.4 Million litre has been constructed at a total cost of approx. Rs. 24.30 crore. With the commissioning of this UGR the 2.50 lacs residents  of following areas will benefit with improved water supply :-  Pitampura North, Pitampura East, Pitampura South, Shalimar Bagh, Haiderpur Village, Shalimar Village, Sahipur Village, Singhalpur Village and Ambedkar Colony etc.
