Salman Khan to be tried for culpable homicide not amounting to murder in 2002 hit and run case

SALMAN KHAN ” NOT APOLOGETIC” ABOUT HIS RAPE REMARK – NCW CHIEF

New Delhi: National Commission for Women chairperson Lalitha Kumaramangalam on Wednesday said actor Salman Khan was “not apologetic” about his ‘rape’ remark in a reply to the panel.

“Salman Khan has sent a reply and it is not apologetic in tenor. We now need to decide what we are going to do next. We have to look at both what comes under our mandate and what are the legalities involved…We are not going to give out the details of his reply now. We need to first go through it in detail, along with our lawyers. Only then, will both his reply and what we are going to do next will be made public,” she said.

The actor mailed the reply through a lawyer on Tuesday evening.

“The reply has come from his lawyer, which means it is a legal reply. So we can’t just reply off the cuff,” Ms. Kumaramangalam said.

If the actor did not give a satisfactory reply, he could be asked to appear before the Commission, The NCW chief had said.
