PNB Prerna Central Delhi donated computers and machines etc
New Delhi, April 04 : PNB Prerna, Central Delhi Circle organised a function at PRABHAT in Shaktinagar, Delhi. PRABHAT, Society for Child Development was set up as a non- profit organization in 1992 to create a world of equal opportunities for people with disabilities and started a school for children with learning difficulties at Shaktinagar, New Delhi in the beginning.
PRABHAT aims to provide students with educational & training facility that will assist them acquire basic living and academic skills. At the age of 18, students transfer to the Skill Development Centre to learn market driven skills and crafts.
The trash to cash livelihood program for persons with any disability like hearing, visually or physically challenged has a group who make the products- fabric, sheets of paper, dried petals, embroidery, shawl, table mat, napkins, candles, diyas, bags, coasters, folders, etc. At present, the school has 70 children in the age range of 3 to 18 years.
For the noble cause, members of PNB Prerna, provided three computers, 40 stools, two tables and a machine (for making incense sticks) to PRABHAT to ease some of the burdens and give support to the disabled persons. Smt Pushpa Kamath, President, PNB Prerna appreciated the efforts of PRABHAT for creating a world of equal opportunities for people with disability and emphasized the need to strengthen the organization which cares the children with learning difficulty. She also thanked the entire team of PRABHAT for setting up this forum for development of persons with disability, provide them education and develop their skill to become holistic adult.
