L K Advani,Senior BJP patriach who tendered resignation yesterday withdrew his resignation states party president Rajnath Singh in a press conference today

Sh. Advani was not present at the press conference which was held at his house – Mr Singh said it would have been disrespectful to have Sh. Advani attend an announcement about him.

After the BJP’s  press conference, Mr Modi tweeted from Gujarat, “I had said yesterday that Advani ji will not disappoint lakhs of Karyakartas. Today, I whole heartedly welcome his decision!”

Advani  today spoke to Mohan Bhagwat in the eveneing , the head of the BJP’s powerful ideological mentor, the Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh or RSS. In that conversation, a BJP press release said, Mr Advani was persuaded to “respect the parliamentary board decision” to reject his resignation – the BJP’s core group from the national executive, the parliamentary board and the election committee.
