“Tiger Bids Adieu” – Bal Thackeray,Shiv Sena Chief dies at 86 after prolonged illness in Mumbai
The founder of Shiv Sena Balasaheb Thackeray died today in Mumbai after prolonged illness.He founded Shiv Sena in 1966 with an aim to safeguard the rights of Maharashtrians. From “Matoshree” to Sena Bhawan the body of sena chief will be taken early morning where it will kept for supporters to pay their last tributes followed by cremation at Shivaji Park around 6 pm.
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh also expressed his condolence over Thackeray’s demise.
BJP President Nitin Gadkari addressing media said, Sena chief Balasaheb was like family to me. His demise is a setback for all of us, he kept fighting for people all his life.
Cricketer Sachin Tendulkar ,DMK chief and former Tamil Nadu chief minister M Karunanidhi, NCP Chief Sharad Pawar and various other prominent personalities expressed there condolence over the demise of Bala Saheb.
To maintain law and order the Mumbai police said that over 20,000 police personnel had been deployed across the Maharashtra capital to avoid any problemand Maharashtra has been put on high alert .
